Sienna Grace proved once again to her Daddy and me, along with her nurses, three members of the anesthesia team, and the awesome Dr. Steve that she is a ROCK STAR patient! (Quite honestly, braver than most adults we know!!)

Surgery did not start officially until 2:13.. She never complained about being hungry once we arrived at 11:00. She was sweet to the nursing staff, loved the child life specialist who provided a hospital gown for Kit and ID bracelets for Kit, her Hello Kitty, and her Panda from her BFF, Nadi. Geri also gave her toys to play with and a princess crown craft.

At 1:30 Jeff and I went to the OR with her, along with Kit, Kitty, Panda, and her beloved blanket! This was different than June, where Grandma and I said goodbye before they took her away. This time they rolled in a very alert Sienna on her bed with Mom and Dad by her side in scrubs, hats, and masks.. Instead of terrified, our future doctor took in the room, the lights, the equipment.. We chose an IV this time to put her to sleep. She watched (like she always does) without a whimper. The Anesthesia team could not get over how sweet and brave she was.. And with no fear she peacefully went to sleep while I sang "Jesus Loves Me" in her ear. Only God can give a child such peace and grace in this type of situation. Jeff and I left with more respect than we already had for our amazing daughter!

We are now waiting for the call that we can see her soon. All we know now is that the surgery went great!!! Her very large spleen was removed successfully with a laprascope! Praise God for answered prayers!!!!!! And, for the amazing team here at Children's!!

Thank you for lifting up Sienna Grace today! God is so faithful in the way He continues to watch over our precious and brave little girl! Praying she hangs in there as the pain meds wear off.. I will be having a slumber party with Sienna tonight!! Ready to do whatever she needs to get thru the next 12-24 hours and beyond!

More soon! THANK YOU!!!

I love your blog and your family. It is part of my daily routine to check in on your diamond, ruby, and pearl. They add joy to my life. I am the mom to 3 great boys and one precious little larger than life china doll name Zoey. Zoey and i have been praying for Sienna today and know that He who began a good work in her will be faithful to complete it. Continued praying for a fast recovery.

We have been praying for Sienna, Shaelee just saw your pictures with Emily. I have been trying to explain this to the little girls. Shaelee was very happy that Tung Tung took the Panda with her. She is very concerned about her buddy however. I love the little bracelet too! Ms Sienna is so brave. Blessed as well, to have such a special Mom and Dad! (and those 2 beautiful sisters) Love you guys....
