Ruby Tuesday Ramblings!

Have you ever read the books, or seen the t-shirts, Little Miss Stubborn, Little Miss Somersault, Little Miss Giggles, Little Miss Sunshine... ? All in a way, a short description of Her Rubiness. But, she really needs her own book, Little Miss Exuberance... I LOVE LOVE LOVE her approach to life. She is so enthusiastic about the smallest and the biggest of things. Yesterday, I picked her up from pre-school, and she said, "Guess what Mom?" "I was the Line Leader!!!!" Ruby has waited, role played, and practiced being the line leader for days. So, when it finally came to be, she was not going to disappoint! My guess is she was the very best line leader EVER!!!!

We are reminded constantly that life through the eyes of this three year old is one of the biggest blessings in life. God clearly knew what he was doing when He created this tiny package of sugar and spice! There is no doubt in my mind when she sings, "Jesus Loves Me" loudly in the aisles of Target that the heavens are smiling... Everyone else who hears her is!

I loved seeing these precious kiddos through my camera lens on Saturday! It was a fun and challenging day. It was a perfect day for taking pictures outside! I learned a ton.... Thank you Kim for the pep talk! And, thanks to Anna, KK, Ali, Lillian, Molly, & Collin! (And their Mom's too!) Now this is a job I could get use to!

Ok - The Pressure is on!

First of all, let me apologize for the little teaser on Wednesday. Yes, we do have some exciting things to share around here... I promise I will spill the story soon! Maybe, sometime next week.

Tomorrow (weather permitting) I have been asked to take photos for Christmas cards for three families. This will be the first time I have really taken pictures for people that I don't know that well... I am looking forward to it, but I am a bit nervous too.... Praying for at least one shot everyone will love!!!!

It's one thing to LOVE taking pictures of my girls, and my friends children... But, I am feeling the pressure to step it up tomorrow!!!!

Have a great weekend!

More soon,
Diana

*The photo above is one of my dearest friends children that I took to surprise her on her birthday... Aren't their eyes amazing?

Fall at the Cabin!

We had a very quick overnight at the cabin with the goal of accomplishing a few "winterizing" things. We brought "Little Katie" with us, and we had a beautiful day. As you can tell it was a little chilly, but the sun was shining!!! We are blessed to have this home a way from home!

Off to another Vikings game!

Just Pics...

I took these of Ruby on her school picture day... Not my best work, but I wanted to post them anyway... I love this sweet little Matilda Jane outift on her... And, it was such a gorgeous fall day... Since we are looking at winter already, I wanted to document that we did have a few beautiful days in 2009.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Ruby's First School Picture!

Ruby brought this adorable photo home in her school bag yesterday! She was very proud that she smiled and had her bow in place without Mom around!!!

I LOVE it!

P.S: For those of you wondering why Jeff looked like Scuba Steve in my Wordless Wednesday post.... He was taking our Jet Ski out of the lake for the season. It was windy and freezing out! Yes, it was quite the site!!

Apple Picking 2009

We have been going to the same beautiful Apple Orchard for the last four years. This year we took Little Katie with us. It was a gorgeous day, and the apples did not disappoint! They have even started producing their own wine on this land. Who knew you could grow wine worthy grapes here? We love this little slice of Napa Valley in our own backyard!

Just catching up. We did this almost two weeks ago!

By the way, did anyone catch the Monday Night Football game? We were at that crazy event!
Such a fun night!!

Catching Up!

Yes those are coats and hats on the girls! We were up north at the cabin getting the boats out.The leaves are changing, and it is cold!! We are waiting for a new furnace to be installed at our house in the city, so the fireplace is on and we have space heaters going. It is way too early for this! Or, do I just have a very short memory. Fall is one of my favorite times in Minnesota, but it just feels too early this year after such a short summer.

I will be catching up on some of the other things we have been up to later this week.
One of the highlights from the past week was a visit from Uncle Greg! It was great to spend time with him. The girls loved it! We even let him join our Guitar Hero band!!! Thanks Greg!

My first official week on board with Pearl River was so wonderful. I am humbled by the awesome response to our babies. Thank you to all of the new families who have visited us here at The Pearl & The Ruby! We have 14 new sponsors which is so exciting. And, there are 16 left.

I also wanted to update you on Maddie. She is still in the hospital. She is doing much better after some ups and downs. She will not be able to get home until they can get her Potassium levels figured out. And, she also has one chest tube remaining that needs to be out for at least two days before they set her free. My understanding is she has been a great patient, considering she is TWO! Julie and Todd are ready to have her home and to get some sleep! For those of you who have tried to sleep in a hospital, you know it is impossible! So, we continue to pray for Maddie to get well and to be home soon!

Well, it's time to get to go. Her Rubiness has taken over my IPhone!!
