Happy Birthday Ruby Mei!
Goodbye Two/Three!
We love you more than we can ever say Ruby Mei! You are truly a gift from God and we are so thankful you are our daughter! You had a wonderful year being two. You have grown in so many ways. We are so proud of you! We can only begin to imagine how exciting three will be! What a blessing it will be to live it with you!

Ruby Tuesday Ramblings.....
Yesterday I took The Pearl & The Ruby to one of my favorite places for photos. The Rose Garden and Peace Garden at Lake Harriet. Considering they were not really up for my photo op, I was pleased to capture a few good shots of the sisters together! The Roses were beautiful!!! I could have spent all day there, but let's just say my models had other plans!
Today we are celebrating Her Rubiness's birthday early. She is having a small tea party with three of her little "buddies." Tomorrow The Pearl leaves for a week to visit my brother Mark, Becky, Shaelee & Wylie at their very special home... Let's just say now, she will never want to leave... Dogs, cats, horses, cattle, goats, and lots and lots of puppies!!! She will be at "Ranch Camp" for a week! It will be so quiet around here without her. But, I am so excited for the experience she is going to have! We will meet up with her in a week. Can't wait!
"Tea with Ruby" photos will be next! I can't believe she is almost three. I will miss her answer when someone says, "how old are you?" Very matter of factly, "Two/Three!"

"Little Katie" Sleepover and New Day Raffle!!
Well as you can see the gorgeous blue eyes run in Maddie and Katie's family! This is the big sister, but forever "Little Katie" to us. Many of you have seen Katie here before. She is The Pearl's BFF! I finally made good on a promise to have Katie sleep over on Friday night. Our summer has flown by, and we just had not had a chance to do this. Well Jeff "escaped" to the lake, and I had fun with the girls. They even talked me into taking them to "G-Force" the next day! I love this special relationship. I hope it is a lifetime friendship!
Now, when you sleep at my house you just may have to be part of a homework assignment. Katie was kind enough to let me photograph her Saturday morning. Isin't she stunning?!!!!

Madison!

Thankful Thursday!
They might drive each other crazy, pick on each other, antagonize, and yes even say a few unkind words... But, at the end of the day they apologize, kiss and make-up and truly adore each other... I think their nicknames for one another will stick forever... "Big Sissy" and "Rarby." I have been blessed to have a front row seat in watching these two precious sisters, bond, blossom and love one another in the past two years. I am very thankful for this gift!Blessings,

Veggies!!!
Jeff and the girls have been working hard on our first vegetable garden this summer. Until today we have had one small green pepper and a few cherry tomatoes. Well I guess, our garden liked our un-seasonably cool weather. I came home to this and my happy gardeners! Check out their presentation!

The Caddy in her...
This weekend Aunt Bop and Aunt Lisa are blessing us at the cabin. We are having so much fun! At the moment The Pearl is learning how to play a mean game of Crazy Eights with her Aunts... But, the highlight of the day for this Mom was having her join us for 18 holes of golf!!!! Lisa and Barb are two of my favorite golf partners... We invited Ainsley to join us... Since it was a quiet "fall" day at the course she was able to hit a few balls, drive the golf cart, tend the flag, wash our balls, and overall share in the joy of friends playing golf on a wonderful Saturday. I have always hoped my girls would take up the game someday. I think this was a great way to get introduced to it!!!! I love these mother/daughter days where things I love are discovered and understood!!! Perhaps one day she will be a golf loving photographer!!

Ruby Models Her New Jacket!
Ok - probably not a big secret to all of you, that I love to shop for cute clothes for my girls... Yes, and hairbows for Ruby Mei too!!! My favorite places to buy for the Pearl & The Ruby are Nordstrom's (the anniversary sale every year which we already hit for shoes!), a local boutique called Goodnight Moon, Matilda Jane, Crew Cuts and TARGET!!! I love Target for me too!! I think my entire summer wardrobe is from Target! Of course I love to find great deals..This adorable OshKosh jacket was found hanging on the rack at Target this past week. Don't you agree it was screaming Ruby's name? Even the Pearl agreed her sister HAD to have it!!!! So, since we are having the coldest July 16th on record, my assistant (The Pearl) and I got Her Rubiness to model it... I think we told her she might be in a fashion magazine!!! Ok - a little fib, but it worked!
So, if you need a fun fall coat for your pre-schoolers out there, go to the nearest Target "Boutique" near you!!!! But, if you need a great bow, go to weeones.com!
Lastly, thanks for all the comments on Ruby's watermelon bikini... Someone asked me where we got it.. It actually was a gift for Ainsley five years ago. The brand is Le Top.

Just the Girls!
We had a very fun vacation day yesterday visiting some friends who have a cabin close to us. Barb and I met in college and we have re-connected in the past year through BSF. She was my BSF Leader and we had an amazing year. We got our families together over the 4th and had a great time. Barb and Ellie were up north alone, and so they called us for "play date" yesterday. It was so fun to get together again. Thanks Barb and Ellie for a great day!!!! We loved your cabin, and we loved spending time with you!
