Can you say lucky Mom behind the Camera?
Yesterday Ruby and I had the blessing of meeting baby Grace, and playing with big brother William. I got to have precious baby breath on my neck while sweet 10 week old baby Grace snuggled up, and fell asleep on me! Pure Joy!!!! It was fun to catch up with this wonderful family! Sarah was nice enough to humor me and let me take some photos of her beautiful children with my new lens. I have already asked if I can borrow William for a photo shoot when I have a Rawsii assignment this summer. As you can see, the camera LOVES him!
Last night, Her Rubiness too fell asleep on my shoulder!!! That NEVER happens!!! I had to soak it all in before I put her in her bed. What a blessing she is!!! It is hard to believe that in a week we will be celebrating two years with her!
Lastly, I have to close with a heartfelt note to families waiting for TA's and/or Referrals. I know you have endured a great deal, and having referrals and travel potentially delayed due to the Swine Flu is awful. I am praying for this virus to be contained quickly so you can be united with your children! Hang in there! I am optimistic that the CCAA will continue to work and move forward with referrals next week. Dawn & Beth - soon you will see the face of your precious daughters and this will be in the rearview mirror! Until then...

Better.....
Gorgeous Spring Day meant driveway photo shoot!!! Great excuse to break out the new camera lens and get some practice.. I can tell I am going to LOVE it!!!! All of these were shot in Aperature Priority today...

The New Lens Learning Curve....
As my wise friend Kim told me, I would have a learning curve with my new birthday present. Jeff bought me the Nikon 50mm f/1.8D Portrait Lens. Thanks Honey!! Let's just say as you can see by the two last photos, I need to work on my settings.... I was so bummed when I looked at these, and realized how blown out they were... I love the shots of the Pearl & The Ruby... Perhaps someone out there knows how to save them? Oh well, I am very excited about this new accessory for my camera, and I will be working hard to figure out what I am doing with it!!!! No time to miss the great shots!Blessings,

I had an awesome day that started with Ainsley & Ruby singing "Happy Birthday dear Mama" to me... Followed by breakfast with my closest friends here. Then I went ice skating (yes you read that right) with my life long friend "Aunt Lisa." After some volunteering I went to the camera store and picked up my birthday gift from Jeff!!! A new lens that was on my wish list!!!! After that I was at the head of the table at a lovely dinner party here! It was a perfect birthday!!

"Wild Rumpus" with Grandma!!!
My Mom arrived yesterday to spend my birthday with me tomorrow!!! We had such a fun day with Ruby today. We went to the CUTEST children's book store. If you have seen, "You've Got Mail" it's like the store Meg Ryan owned. Just add a few animals and chickens, and you get the picture... Anyway, I have heard of "Wild Rumpus" but I have never been there. Well, let's just say we will now be frequent visitors! We all loved it!Thanks Mom for celebrating 45 years with me! Am I really that old? I am thankful for so many things. Especially, opportunities like I had today! And, for a husband who was kind enough to tell me he thinks I am getting more beautiful with age!!!! Even if he is lying to my face I adore that man!!!!! Can't wait to see what Ainsley has up her sleeve tomorrow. She is very excited about whatever it is! I love how she embraces these major life events!!! Time to go, I need my beauty rest!!!! :)

Belated Easter Pics, etc...
Last week was crazy so I never got around to downloading photos from Easter, etc... So, just for "Scrap Booking" purposes I want to add some here. It was such a beautiful Spring Day!
It seems that since we returned from Mexico we have all been busy! Lots of exciting things going on here.. As I look at the calendar so many things are coming to an end soon... I have my last Wednesday night at church this week with my 6th grade girls. I have had them for two years, so it will be bittersweet as they graduate into the Jr. High program! In May Ruby will graduate from her 2 year old class, and another year of BSF will conclude. June 1st is around the corner and Ainsley will be done with school for the summer! Yikes - I have a lot to do before that!
Friday I celebrate another milestone birthday. Why does time go faster when you are older? I feel like I just had one of those! So much to be thankful for though! The first half of my 40's have been good to me!
My Mom comes Wednesday... So, this will probably be my last post for a few days. I have some cleaning to do!!! :)

Ruby's afternoon at Camp H!
Yesterday my sweet friend Liz helped me out with Ruby so I could go to an appointment. For those of you that are new to my blog, Liz is the director of Camp H! Lovingly named that when Ainsley spent two weeks with this wonderful family while we were in China bringing Her Rubiness home. Jeff and I are blessed to have our kids loved by these special people! This was Ruby's first time alone with Liz in a very long time. From the looks of these photos and all she had to recap for me, she had a ball. Here is what Liz said to me about their day in an email...,"I had such a fun time with sweet little Ruby!! I learned that her favorite word is why, and that she LOVES to bounce on the trampoline, play tea party, go down the slide, be independent, play with playdough and make smoothies. What a fun afternoon we had..."
Thank you Liz! You are such a blessing to our family! We love you!
