"Catching the Big One" Pics!

Ruby's First Catch
Ruby's Second Catch of the Day!

Ruby Tuesday Ramblings!

Silly hair for some fun photos Ainsley had taken today.  I love this shot!
Big & Little plus lunchbox!!

I can not believe it has been a week since I last posted.  We have been busy living summer around here!!!  Vacation Bible School was great!  Ainsley had so much fun with the "Up North, Catching the Big One" theme this year.  She has been singing and dancing to the Worship songs every day!  Ruby absolutely loved going to the pre-school program too!  Tuesday, she literally skipped from the front door, to her class room.  The highlight for Ruby was carrying her lunch box everyday!  And, showing me her artwork when I picked her up!  So many cute things!  We feel very blessed to go to a church that has such a great kids program!  700+ kids attended this year!

We went straight from VBS, to our version of "Up North, Catching the Big one!"  Ruby caught her first fish!!!  And, then she caught her second fish....  She was very excited!  And, of course so was the entire family!  It looks like Jeff now has an entire crew to help him catch dinner!

Tonight, I was blessed to spend time talking with my sweet friend Michelle.  Michelle's husband is now into 30+ days at the Mayo Clinic.  Without going into all of the details here, Scott continues to hang on, even with some huge setbacks.  I am so amazed by what his body has had to endure, and he is still fighting!   And, precious Michelle is such an inspiration.  She continues to count the blessings in this trial.  Even on the most difficult days, she is looking up, and giving thanks!  I am so inspired by my friend!  After hanging up the phone, I found this quote by Sara Groves in a book called,  "In Your time of Need."  Michelle, this one if for you...

"Just when I'm sure I can't bear the rain, a tiny leaf starts pushing through the ground.  In a place where the ground was too dry to sustain it, a new tiny flower can be found."

I would love to ramble on more, but it is way past my bedtime, and I actually am playing golf tomorrow!!!!!  One of my favorite things to do!

Blessings,
Diana

Ruby Tuesday Ramblings...

Is she my skater?

We are in the middle of VBS, (Vacation Bible School) all week.  So, I just want to post a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Stefanie & Chris, on their newest addition, precious Shepherd!  If you have never been to Stefanie's blog, it is a must read!!!!  Especially if you want to learn more about the SN program in China.  Shepherd is their 8th child, and 4th adoption from China.  You will fall in love with Stefanie & her heart for kids!!!!

For those of you waiting, I just want you to know I continue to pray for things to turn around.  I really believe that once the Olympics are over, that you will see things improve!!!  Until then, I hope you will continue to journal the blessings in your wait!!!!

Time to get the girls up!

Blessings,
Diana

Ready for her night out!

The Pearl had such a fun party!!!!  We took Ainsley & five of her girlfriends to Club Libby Lu for makeovers, Hannah Montana style, and then back to our house for lunch, cake, and presents!  I have to say it was a blast!!!  Aunt Bop, Daddy, and I chaperoned these adorable Divas!  Jeff got the thumbs up from several Mom's as he walked through Nordstroms with six little girls in hot pink sequins!!  After Ainsley's party she went out for the evening to her best friend Katie's (The Emerald) dance recital.  Jeff and I went out for a fabulous Anniversary dinner, and Ruby entertained Aunt Bop all night!  Thanks Julie & Todd, and Barb!!

It was a great celebration for #7 and #9!  I will probably add a slide show later, but before the day really starts, here are some fun shots that will give you the flavor of the day!

Happy Weekend!

Ainsley's Birthdays 2001 - 2007

Nine years ago on this day at approximately 7:50pm in Nashville, Jeff and I were married at a simple and lovely ceremony at the home of one of our closest friends. Seven years ago, at 7:50pm, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, God blessed us with precious Ainsley Kathryn. Today, we celebrate nine years of marriage and seven years with the beautiful Pearl! Happy Anniversary Honey, and Happy Birthday Ainsley! I love you both beyond words!

Today, on this thankful Thursday I give thanks to God for creating this family! I look forward to many many more Happy June 12ths!!

Ruby Tuesday Ramblings

Like our summer, I can tell my blog posts are going to be more random, and probably less frequent.  I had three goals when I started this blog.  One, was to have a digital/virtual scrapbook of our life on record, second was to keep our long distance family up-to-date on their Grandchildren/Nieces, and thirdly was to encourage people in their adoption waits for their children.  From the wonderful messages I receive, and the thankful calls I get from Grandparents, I feel like I am reaching those goals.

I am not sure I would have really ever jumped in on this blog if Jeff hadn't gotten sick last summer.  Kim was the one who encouraged me when she posted a prayer request for our family during that time.  I am grateful.  I know there are many of you who read our blog, but never leave a comment.  I hope someday you will, just so I know who you are.  But, anonymous is okay too as long as you feel encouraged here.  Jeff was recently in KY at our nephew's graduation and he was floored by how many of his relatives check in on us via "the Pearl & the Ruby!".  So, to Jeff's family out there, thank you for following us here!

That was a lot of blah blah blah to say, I will post this summer, but probably less frequently.  I hope to do Tuesday posts going forward, labeled..  "Ruby Tuesday Ramblings."  These posts will probably consist of what Ruby is up to lately.  We will see where they lead...

Check in on us this Thursday/Friday.  It is Ainsley's 7th birthday.  She is so excited!!  I can't believe that seven years ago I was two days away from becoming a mom for the first time.  It was such a special time!   I can promise some fun pictures around July 8th when two Jiangxi Jewels and their siblings will be featured here!

Oh, well time to go...  The Emerald is here, and she and The Pearl have a show for me to watch!

Blessings,
Diana

P.S:  Congratulations to the June 9th Referral Group!
