Ruby Mei has been home one month today!!!!
One month ago we traveled 21 hours from China to MSP to bring Ruby home. It was an incredble homecoming for us. I just updated our "Journey to Ruby" at www.myadoptionwebsite.com/diandjeff about our month home.
Here are some photos from today that I took of the sisters for Father's Day! I love looking through the lens of my camera and seeing my two beautiful daughters!
What an incredible month it has been. I look forward to seeing what "Her Rubiness" does before she turns one at the end of July...
Thanks for sharing our journey!

Happy Birthday Princess Ainsley!
It is hard to believe that six years ago I was in Nashville, TN with a precious new born baby girl that we named Ainsley Kathryn. Now fast forward six years and we have a beautiful daughter that will be in first grade at the end of August. In some ways it feels like yesterday that Jeff was driving me to Baptist Hospital. I remember so many details of that incredible day.
Tuesday, June 12th we celebrated Ainsley's 6th with a Princess Party. It was an old fashioned home party, and it went well. We had 10 little girls dressed in their princess finery. They were all so cute!! It was fun for me to decorate and get ready the night before. I wanted it to be a very special day for her.
Happy Birthday Ainsley Kathryn! I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ruby Tuesday - One Month Anniversary!!!
I will make this short because it is very late, but I wanted to add some pictures of Ruby from June 8th. We were up north at our lake house for the weekend. When I look at her, I can't believe we have only known her for 30 days. She is so special to us, that sometimes it is hard to find the words to describe it. She is one of the sweetest babies I have ever met. She is just simply lovable! And, we are so grateful that God picked us to be the ones to love on her!!
In one month Ruby has learned to wave, crawl, and pull up to a standing position. She now has three teeth, and more are coming soon. She is healthy, and doing great!
Tomorrow (OK today based on the time) is Ainsley's 6th Birthday, and our 8th wedding anniversary. What a journey we have all been on in the last 6+ years. Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband! Thank you for all you do for me and our family! I love you!
Blessings,
Diana

Family of Four.....At last!
So many of you have faithfully traveled to China and back with us. I won't spend time re-living it here. But, if you ever want to journey back please visit us at www.myadoptionwebsite.com/diandjeff. We still plan to update our "Journey to Ruby Mei" monthly there. That site has been such a gift to us. We still are amazed at the support we have recieved from all of your guest book messages... Thank you!
This blog was created by me before we left for China. At the time I was just tinkering and having fun with it. A few of my friends have the most amazing journals of their daily lives, ponderings, thoughts, etc.. I can not promise you will get smart reading mine, but I hope you enjoy the random thoughts of a Mom who is learning to thrive in her new "normal! Ruby has been an amazing addition to our family. God definitely picked the perfect baby for us. She is so lovable and flexible, I pinch myself daily that I get to spend my days (and nights) with her!!
I have never won any patience awards in my life. In fact, I pray for it daily... As I have stated before, I believe that is one of the reasons God chose Jeff and I for adoption. We had to learn to wait, and wait, and wait some more... Some of lifes best lessons are learned when you wait!
So coming home from China to a daughter who missed us and needed our attention, along with jetlag, 13 hour time change and a new baby that wasn't sleeping at night was really tough. There are days like yesterday when it still is. But, overall we are doing so well. Ainsley has adjusted, and she is doing a wondeful job in her new role as big sister, and helper to me.
At some point I will probably do a post about the transition from only child to big sister and how to take it all out on the ones you love most... But, for now trust we are doing so much better than we were the first week home...
OK - you have all been telling me you need a little Ruby fix, so here are some updated pics.
We will agree that she is pretty yummy! We feel incredible blessed that God has given us two of his beautiful daughters to love and raise...

A special 43rd Red Thread!!
Two years ago I told the infertility clinic IF I got my period by 4-24-05 , my 41st birthday, my ovaries were going into retirement! Well the joke was on me when I got my period that very day! Whoever does not believe that God has a sense of humor does not know God! I remember feeling almost relieved so I could wholeheartedly pursue my hearts desire, adoption from China!
I guess I knew from the day God called Jeff to China, that the story would end this way for our family anyway. Not sure why we bothered with the shots, the drama, etc.... Really, it was the best birthday present ever!!
Fast forward two years, to this past Tuesday, 4-24-07... The day started out perfectly. At 5:30am precious Ainsley woke me up, whispering "Happy Birthday Mama.. I love you!" Then 4 hours later my wonderful BSF group gave me a surprise shower, and birthday cake.. And, less than 8 hours later I am sitting in Jeff's office on a 2 hour conference call with America World's Travel Group #124, getting de-briefed on what we need to know before we arrive in China! Red thread? I would say so! So, to stay with the red theme, my lovely family presented me with my very own (or should I say Ruby's very own) "Ruby Red Bumble Ride Stroller" for my birthday present! Love it!!!!
I got to close my perfect birthday day with dinner with the entire Edwards Family, Jeff & Ainsley. My favorite memory besides the "Ruby Red Bumbleride" will be my precious tenors (Dad and Mark) serenading me with their beautiful Happy Birthday song! A priceless gift!
And the photo attached here, was taken by our budding photographer, Ainsley Kathryn!
So, Chapter 43, is really another beginning for me. A beautiful baby girl is waiting for her Mama
to bring her home! I may look 50 shortly, but for now I feel like I am 23! I am so excited to be a Mama again! Five more full days to pull it all together! Can't wait!
