My New Awesome "Job"!!!!

Well, I am not sure I can really call it a job! Let's call it a blessing to be responsible for finding sponsors for special needs children in China! Today is my official post asking all of you to check out the NEW Pearl River Outreach Blog! Please book mark it, and check in on us often!

I hope you will grab our adorable new blog button too! Thank you Danielle! Our goal is to have our Bamboo Babies sponsored 100%. The more sponsors we get, the more children we can bring into this special program. I can tell you from experience that these children are well cared for. First and foremost they are in foster homes where they are being loved!!!! One of Pearl River's goals is to prepare these children for their forever families!

I look forward to hosting the Pearl River Blog, and for sharing with you heart warming stories about some very special children and families!

Please sponsor one of our babies today! And, if you can't, will you choose one of our little ones to pray for!

It is a blessing to be part of such an amazing community of adoptive families! Together, we can give these beautiful children hope for a future!

Thank you in advance!

My Rock Band!!

Jeff surprised Ainsley with Guitar Hero this week!! We decided to make it "Rock Band" family night! It was a blast with Jeff on the drums, Mom on the guitar and Ainsley as lead singer!!! Her Rubiness wasn't up for rocking out with us, so she went off to bed! Our best song, "Beat it!"

I have a feeling we will be doing an encore soon!

Prayers for Madison.. Update #2

Great News! Maddie is off the ventilator and breathing successfully on her own! She is also an unhappy camper about all of it. She wants milk, and food!!! Unfortunately, nothing but water for today. Bless her little heart. So, it sounds like today went as well as it possible can! Praise the Lord for taking care of Madison!!! I am sure a long night for Julie and Todd, but one I know they will happily endure!

Thanks again for your prayers!

Julie just called, and Maddie's surgery went very well!!! Praise the Lord!! She is in recovery and they have not seen her yet. Now, the next milestone will be to get her off the ventilator today and breathing on her own. My understanding is that they really want to see this happen today! So we need prayers that Madison will not fight too hard as they bring her out of sedation. Dr. Overman tried to prepare Julie & Todd for this period. Saying it is very difficult for both the child and the parents. By nature she will want to get the tubes out... So, most likely she will be restrained.

So my prayer is for Maddie to understand in some way how important it is to be "still." And, for strength for Julie and Todd as they watch their baby go through this next part of this very important recovery stage. Thank you for your prayers for our friends!

Precious Maddie turns 2 on Saturday. Today, she will be in surgery for 4-6 hours as they do the third and most involved surgery to repair her precious heart. Many of you prayed for Maddie when she was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart. Thank you for that. She is a miracle baby!

Julie is one of my dearest friends. And, I woke up with such a heavy heart putting myself in her shoes today. God has given this Mom a strength that comes only from him, and I am so amazed by it.

So, today I lift up sweet (and feisty) Maddie! And, her team of doctors and nurses. And, of course her parents, little Katie, and both sets of Grandparents too!!!

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

Julie, if you see this, I am sending you the worlds biggest hug. CALL ME!! :)

He Does Answer Our Prayers!...

No words for this post, other than to say I am so thankful that God picked me to be their Mom and Jeff to be their Dad.  We have had an amazing weekend where it is clear that God answers prayers.  Not always in the way we want... Sometimes he closes doors...  But, I learned today, that "we spend so much time looking at the closed door, we don't see the open one!"

Going in to tomorrow looking for double french doors that are wide open!  :)

Blessings,

"It Was A Wonderful Day!"

The Pearl never did the carpool line until her second year of pre-school.  She just wasn't quite ready for that at three.  It took her little sister one day to decide she wanted to be dropped off and picked up like the big kids...  I almost wept when she got out of the car with her book bag over her shoulder and walked into the building without me.  After school she was escorted to my car by Ainsley's old teacher.  With a big smile, she jumped in and said "it was a wonderful day Mom!!!"  Oh how I pray she always looks at life this way!  Thank you Lord for precious Ruby who lives each day with a skip in her step and a "I can do it!" attitude!  We could all learn a lot from her!
