Santa!

After church today we went to visit Santa with "Camp H." As expected, Ruby was not too enthusiastic about our North Pole adventure. She continued to say "No Santa" as we approached the big red velvet chair! I thought the bribe of chocolates wrapped in pretty red foil would get her, but not today! She wanted her Daddy! In our family photo she is chewing on one of those kisses. Ainsley on the other hand was excited about this! We saw an infant today on Santa's lap when we left. She was wearing her Santa dress and matching hat. As I watched her stare at Santa's beard it reminded me of The Pearl when she was six months old.Precious memories!
The big kids had fun telling Santa about their Christmas Wish lists. I love the relationship that my girls have with Luke & Jake. They are like cousins, and it is so sweet to see them together!
It's a snowy wintery day here! It sure feels like Christmas!
TuTu Dreams.....
This is what I saw when I went to check on Ruby last night after we came home from seeing the Michael W. Smith Concert... Really, does it get much sweeter? When we left for the evening, Ruby had this tutu on over some other clothes. I have not had a chance to talk to Annie about it, but my guess is when she got her ready for bed, Her Rubiness demanded that she have her tutu back. Like any fabulous babysitter would, Annie obliged. As if her rosebud lips aren't enough, this vision of pure innocence just makes my heart smile!
Thank you Lord for the gift of 2 year olds! They just make our world's better!
Our little ballerina is downstairs making cocoa for her Daddy and Sister in her kitchen!
We are venturing out to see Santa with friends today after church. As of right now, Ruby has informed us, "No Santa!" Will she be saying that Christmas morning?
Blessings for a fun winter day!

Look Who's Feeling Better! and more....

Thankfully the nasty cold and cough that Ruby had is much better!!! She is back to her happy, busy, self!!! She was even excited to model one of her Christmas dresses for me today! She is such a blessing to hang out with... even when she is sick! We had a lot of fun this week hunkering in. She even helped me get my Christmas cards done. I have never had them in the mail this early!! Today she helped me tackle shoveling the driveway. Our southern girl seems to love the cold and the snow!
On a separate note, you need to check out this MckDaddy Raffle! Some very amazing Mom's have put this blessing in a package together! Check out how you can "Click In" and help orphans, waiting families, and families facing unimaginable news... Thanks MckMama and friends!!
Lastly, if you want to see a very special little girl placed into the arms of her forever family on Monday, you can go here! I can't wait to see Karleigh Mei with Jenn and Carl finally!
I hope you all have a great weekend! We are taking Ainsley and Aunt Bop to the Michael W. Smith Christmas Concert. One of my American Idol favorites, Melinda Doolittle is traveling with him. This has become an annual tradition for us. We can't wait! For those of you who are praying for Hannah, and sending cards, thank you!!
Blessings,
P.S: I just tucked Ruby in... As she was snuggled in she said one word to me.... "Happy!"
Me too Ruby Mei!

Calling all Prayer Warriors and Little Artists!
Hi Friends,
Many of you checked in on my friend Denise when she went to pick up Lily Sha Sha in Changsha only 8 weeks ago. Her older daughter and Jie Jie, Hannah is in the hospital. My understanding is that yesterday she had an emergency bone marrow transplant. Hannah is 6 years old and in first grade. She has been diagnosed with an Aplastic Anemia a rare and acute form of anemia that presented itself very quickly over their Thanksgiving holiday. You can read more on Denise's blog which her sister is updating...
I am posting here to ask for your prayers for Hannah and her family. Please also pray specifically for Lily who is with Denise's Mom. Many of you remember when Jeff was sick the summer after we came home from China. It was a very difficult transition for Ruby because I was gone so much. Hopefully, Lily will stay on her schedule, and she will do great in her Grandma's care!
They are asking for cards to wallpaper Hannah's room at the hospital. She can't have visitors, and as you all know it is pretty sterile in there. So, this is a call out to your kids to get out their glitter and glue and send a little Christmas cheer to Miss Hannah! The address for cards goes to:
Hannah Eriksen
c/o Law Offices of James Eriksen
PO 4257
Rancho Cucamunga, CA 91729-4257
Thank you!

Ballet Shoes for The Pearl!

Not too long ago The Pearl asked if she could take dance classes again. There is a Christian Dance Company here that focuses on quality instruction in a wholesome environment. I love this school, and it's director! They are known for their wonderful program, and their amazing recital in June. Ainsley actually took classes at this school the year we got our referral for Ruby Mei. We had to pull her out before we traveled, and because of the timing of it all she could not be in the recital. We will make sure she is there this year! I look forward to it!I forgot how much I love ballet until I attended the Parent Observation day yesterday. The girls did a scaled down version of The Nutcracker for us. I was so excited to see how much Ainsley has improved! She was graceful and beautiful out there as she showed her bar work, and the other new things she has learned! As I listened and watched, I wished I was taking ballet too! Maybe when Ruby is in school, I will take an adult class. Of course, the pink tights will be covered by a very long wrap!!!
Ruby was absolutely great as she watched the dancers until they put on their tutu's for the finale! We had to leave the room as she loudly chanted for all to hear, "Me Tutu Mama!" Let's just say she will be wearing her own tutu to the June recital!
On another note, Her Rubiness has caught quite a nasty cold. She had a miserable night. Poor baby!!! We will be hunkering in for a few days...
