Back to School for Third Grade!

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he
is old he will not turn from it."  ~Proverbs 22:6

We woke up to a gorgeous fall day for back to school this morning!   The Pearl was admittedly a little nervous for her first day.  But, I think after a great summer, ready to see her friends.  If math was not going to be part of her new normal, she would probably be very excited for the routine of school.  It was fun to see a lot of familiar faces.   I will admit as she gets older it is getting harder to let her go.  (Can you tell it was a good summer!)  That darn Wal*Mart commercial where the Mom is getting her daughters dorm room ready gets me every time.  Well, thankfully I have a few years before that big day!

Ainsley, I just know you are going to have a great year!  We are so proud of you!

Taking a Short Blog Break!

It's time to take a short break to enjoy the last two weeks of The Pearl's summer vacation!  I hope to be back around September 1st with Back to School photos, etc...

When I return I will have lots to share about the new volunteer position I have accepted with Pearl River Outreach!!!  I am going to host their blog (makeover in the works!) and be the sponsor liaison.  I am really looking forward to working with this wonderful organization and their amazing team!

Back soon!

Uncle Mark and Ainsley!

One of my favorite photos was taken by me when Ainsley and I were visiting my brother back in March of 2003. She was not quite two and we traveled to Texas to spend time with Mark and my parents.
As I have said before, Mark is a professional dog trainer. Not the "Dog Whisperer" (Ok, he kind of is.) He is a professional Field Trial Dog Trainer for Labrador Retrievers. Very cool job for an Uncle to have!

My favorite picture of them was taken during a training session when Ainsley, un-prompted by me, toddled up to the mound to be by her Uncle with sippy cup in hand. Priceless moment really... Well you will see below that they went to that same spot on Sunday night to re-inact that precious day.

A special Uncle & his niece....

Today the Pearl leaves the ranch. I know it will be bittersweet as she says goodbye to her family and her new furry friends. But, my guess is she will be back next summer! She has had a great week. I am excited to pick her up!!! And, Ruby is ready for her sissy to be back!!!

Thank you Mark & Becky!!!!! We love you!

Our Enchanting Butterfly!

I tried for five days to get Ruby to let me take her photos in this outfit...  Today, she decided it would work with her schedule! :)  Thanks to Aunt Lisa, my girls will never run out of adorable things to wear!  This was her gift to Ruby this year...  So sweet, and PRECIOUS!

Pink butterfly photos coming soon too!!!

On another note, we miss you Ainsley!!!

Our Country Girl!

Our little city girl is having the time of her life on her vacation!   The Pearl loves dogs, and they have them by the dozens (Corgi's, Italian Greyhounds, Border Collies, Dachshunds, Labs, etc...) at the ranch.  If you need a new puppy, let me know.  We can hook you up with Ainsley's Aunt!!!

Becky tells me she has converted to country girl seamlessly!  She has counted down the days for this trip.  It warms my heart to know she is having a wonderful time!  Here she is with a few of the puppies and her cousin Wylie!  I am waiting for horseback riding pics!!

Ruby's quote of the day yesterday morning:  "It's weird without sissy here!"  I agree!

We love you Ainsley!
