"Petti-Cute!"

You may recall the last time I attempted to take pettiskirt pictures it was a humbling mommy moment! If you need a keeping it real laugh on me, that post is here.

Well I am happy to say that today, Miss Ruby Mei stepped up to the Pettiskirt plate! With the help of my fabulous assistant Ainsley, we got some fun shots of the cutie in her petti!

We had an absolutely gorgeous day today... We finally saw 70! I guess the weather and the need to practice with my new camera inspired me to give that skirt one more whirl!

The reports from AZ are that Sienna is doing great!!!! I am so proud of my big girl! Ruby asked me ten times, when is Sienna coming back? She misses her buddy!

A Special Trip With Daddy!

This evening Sienna took off with her Daddy on a special three day trip. Jeff surprised her with the news yesterday morning that they were heading off on an adventure together. He has a business trip in AZ, so she is tagging along to stay with her best friend, Nadi. She was so excited! And, we were so excited for her to have this time with her special pal and amazing family!

AZTrip-1

I am so proud of this little girl! I love her enthusiasm for all things new. And, I love how in just a year she has learned to go with the flow. I can tell she feels so much more secure here now. It's so amazing when I really think about how far she has come!

AZTrip-2

I also love this time that Sienna is getting with her Daddy alone. A special trip that she will never forget!

I hope she misses me a little! :)

Sienna & Ruby!

SR-16<span class=

I can't give you the date or time, but something is different around here... I noticed it about two weeks ago when Sienna randomly grabbed Ruby and gave her a smooch on the cheek.. I noticed it when Sienna for no special reason said, Ruby "I love you." I noticed it at the dinner table a few days ago when they were whispering and giggling... A relationship that had a slow start one year ago has evolved into something so precious and adorable. Watching them play and hearing them finish each other's sentences is such a blessing. They not only play, play, play all day, they take care of each other.

For those of you who are preparing to bring a sister home I want to encourage you... It may not always be love at first site. But, overtime with loving boundaries, patience, and somedays exhausting consistency it will evolve into something beautiful! I have witnessed it from the front row!

And what about the Pearl? She has a special role as the BIG sister here! Sometimes she helps me referee!!! But most of the time, she is the ring leader and the camp director! They adore her! I think she would admit she adores them too!

And how will Emme Jade fit in? My guess is perfectly! That precious girl is going to be SO loved on by her big sisters! I can't wait to see them all together!

SR-18-<span class=

Tomorrow, Ruby's buddy is taking off on a fun excursion with her Daddy! While Jeff is at a meeting, Sienna is going to be staying with her best friend from China, Nadi!! She is soooo excited! Before the girls went to bed Sienna said, "Ruby are you going to miss me?" Ruby's answer, "yes Sienna! But, I hope you have fun time!" Too cute!

P.S: It was in the high 50's last week and these crazy girls were in their swimsuits! My southern girls are so sick of winter!

Esther & Poppy!!! And.. a little Emme Jade!

so loved

I can't believe it has been six years since Jeff and I began our adoption journeys. As I have stated before, we thought we were adopting a daughter. We could have never prayed for the other amazing blessings that have been shared with us. I have met some of the most amazing friends and mothers through our China Adoption Community.. And, I am forever grateful!

One Mom comes to mind that I have respected from afar for a long time. Sometime during that God connected us personally.. And, it is a friendship that I am thankful to have. I have watched this precious Mom bring home four children from China in this time. Now, I get to watch her bring home two more!! Precious Poppy and Esther will make 11 children for this Mama! Oh, did I mention she is beautiful, smart and a great writer too.. Seriously, I think I can multi-task.. But, my friend Stef has me beat by miles.. She also coordinates sponsors for "An Orphans Wish," she is involved in a fun Christian business called "Wild Olive," and she helps to host a website for special needs families, called "No Hands But Ours!" Yep, she is a amazing!! But, honestly she is just one of those Godly woman that says, "Yes - send me!" Then she figures out how to make it happen!!!! I love that about her!

The story to Poppy and Esther is nothing short of amazing. And, I encourage everyone of you to read Stef's blog posts about it! I watched it all unfold, and even I sit in awe.. Why are we ever surprised by how BIG our God is?

So, it is a privilege today for me to help Stef and Chris and the rest of the chicks in their nest to get these girls home quickly! They have put together a rocking fund raiser to do just that!
Just a $35 donation gets you one of Stef's fabulous tee's!!!! And, check out their prizes. I know one Mama who needs that MacBook! Did I tell you a cute 5 year old spilled water on mine?

So, please go over to "So Loved" and bless my special friend today!

I leave you with a little Emme Jade too... This was sent from the re-union. Look how tiny our girl is!!!! We are so excited to bring her home. Please pray also that the govn't does NOT shut down today. It will affect all Americans in China adopting now, and those of us who are waiting on or will be waiting on USCIS approvals!

{Black & White Wednesday} The Pearl's New Look!!!

AKR-48blog

OK.. If I had to have glasses when I was nine, I can tell you I would not have looked this confident and cute! Nor, would I have had the great attitude Ainsley had about wearing them to school the first day after Spring Break. I was so proud of her... She knew exactly what she wanted when we went to pick them out.. And, I have to say, I love the sassy and fun glasses that she chose!

When I picked her up after school Monday, I wanted to do something special for her... So, I booked the photo studio, and picked her up at school. Our first stop was to Target to grab a few things and then the fun began!!! I think this was perhaps the most fun I have ever had at a photo shoot!!!! Not only is Ainsley a natural in front of the camera, she is hilarious too. Here are the results from our special mother/daughter afternoon together...

The Pearl's First Trade Show!!!

Jeff and I met at a trade show.... He was a customer, and I was the vendor.. The rest is history! Friday it was Ainsley's turn to work and experience her first entertainment trade show with her Daddy! She worked at the booth, met a lot of Jeff's customers and contacts, and she had a great time! The word on the street is that she is a natural! Her Daddy was so proud of her!! Is sales in her future? Considering how she tries to sell me on a daily basis, I think it's a safe bet!

Spring Break!

JaneGirls-19blog

We went to one of our favorite places for spring break, Brentwood, TN!! Jeff and I were married in Nashville and Ainsley was born there. Jeff had a business reason to be in Nashville, so we decided to make a family trip out of it!! We stayed with our great friends, and had a wonderful time.. The girls got to swim their hearts out, and play with friends.. The parents got to play with their friends too! It was perfect! There were some sad faces in the back seat when we left yesterday! It was hard to leave some of our most favorite people in the world, along with the gorgeous weather we were blessed with the last two days... Thank you Jane and Dan for hosting us for the week! We miss you already!
