State Fair!!!
Call us crazy, but Jeff and I decided to take the girls to the State Fair Friday evening! (Thanks Mary T. for understanding!) It was a gorgeous night, and Ainsley and the "littles" had been looking forward to our annual visit to the "Great Minnesota Get Together!" Miss Emme has been blessing us with sleep, so we decided to give it a whirl!!! Well, other than some "whining" from two little girls about walking, we had a pretty fun night!!!! These photos will speak for themselves, but food was definitely the focus of our attention! And, let me say, Emme Jade learned pretty quickly, that food on a stick tastes pretty good!!!! The one thing I was looking forward to was the tasty fair Pork Chops.. I gave Emme one bite and I never saw it again!!!! I think she ate more than I did at her first state fair!!!! No clue where the "little bean" puts it all, but she LOVES to eat!!
The funniest line of the night came from Ruby... We arrived at 5ish.. She ate or tasted: Pork Chops, Pronto Pups, French Fries, Strawberries and Cream, Cinnamon Rolls, and the beloved Martha's Cookies... As we were getting ready to leave around 9:00, she turned to me and said, "What are we having for dinner Mama?" Not kidding!!
Emme continues to remind us why the miracle of adoption is such a blessing! When we look at her at our table, we just can't believe she just got home! She has definitely won our hearts! (Especially her Daddy's!) She is sleeping most nights, and napping everyday!! We are so proud of her! Tomorrow Ainsley starts 5th grade, and Sienna and Ruby start Kindergarten!!!!! It will be a big morning at our house!!

What fun! I am so glad that the girls enjoyed it. Love the picture of Daddy with all of his girls!!!
Praying for a great 1st day of school for the big girls. Ainsley is 1yr behind Gabby. Our girl starts on Weds.
I am happy for you that Emme is taking naps and settling in.
What a blessing...
Hugs,
Jody
Hi Diana,
Looks like a lot of fun! Good luck to the big girls on their upcoming first day of school!
Heather
You guys rock.....everything from the porta potty in the background to Sienna's tattoo just scream"State Fair!" - I love it :) all of the food sounds perfect!
Today's the big school day! Can't wait for first day of school pics! Sienna looks so sweet with her missing tooth! It will be Emme's first day without Ainsley...might be quiet around your house!
I just realized I used about 75 excalamtion points in my comment. I am not what's wrong with me. It's 6:30 in the morning and I am only half way through my first cup of coffee? I must be crazy :)
These pictures are so adorable! I am so impressed that you tackled the fair!!! I'm glad Miss Emme is a good eater, my new daughter seems to gag at most of the food that is put before her :) Maybe I should try some food on a stick! lol...
My heart just smiles when I see those photos. Especially the very last one. I said "awwwww" out loud at my computer!
Thanks for continuing to share your joy with us!
Wow: two girlies starting kindergarten together! That's big!
With care,
Jane Klingenberg
I love the pictures!! So glad y'all had fun! (It worked out really well for us, too!) See you later on!
It has been too many years since I have been to the MN state fair, I'm just never in MN at that time of the year. My favorite was always frozen choc bananas on a stick....and it was the first place I ever ate a big pretzel. LOVE re-living MN thru you :)
I don't think you are crazy at all. It looks like FUN!!! Love what Ruby said.. Kate would say the same thing about dinner:)
So glad that Emme is sleeping...what a BLESSING!!!
My fave pic is the one of Ainsley sharing her food with Sienna and Emme - beautiful sisters!!!!
Love that photo of Jeff and his 4 girls. He looks TOTALLY outnumbered, but COMPLETELY in his element!

Ooh, I love fair food! Reading your post makes me want to go to the fair. Best wishes to the girls as they start school, I know they will do great! Looking forward to those first day of school pictures.
I know Emme is crazy about her dad, but how are you two doing?
What fun!!! So happy to hear how well the transition is going! Your family is just beautiful. These pics just make me smile!!!!
We had a progressive dinner on Saturday night and after eating several servings at every house and then begging to go home and go to bed, we got home and Amelia (Yuan Yuan)said, "are we eating dinner and then going to bed?" I had to convince her she would explode if she ate anymore before dinner and she conceded the point and passed out.
Oh my goodness!! We just missed you at the state fair. We live in Michigan but my husbands family lives in Minneapolis area so we were visiting the Twin Cities this past week and just arrived home today. We were at the State Fair from about 11:00-5:00 and left when you were arriving. The crowds for just way too crazy for me but the food was delicious (especially the cheese curds!!). I am loving your posts with little Emme and my Carissa always says "that's Emme"!! So glad she is adjusted well.
I love those happy faces! We had Ruby's favorite dinner tonight, chicken noodle soup. All the C's were thinking of what a great time we had! I love that Emme loves to eat...they all look like they had a great time. Wish we had a little Northern weather, it is so hot here!
hee hee!! ...these photos are GREAT! I loved the 'cut out' photo of the firls... I'm guessing daddy was hiding in the back-ground giving little Emme a boost!?! ;)
Ruby's comment cracked me up. I love that girl!! So wishing we would've headed out to the big MN Get-Together on Friday night, too... how fun it would've been to bump into you!
Big Hugs,
~Tanya
