We are in Nanjing!!!!!

DSC_3305

It has been a day of trains and automobiles for us!!! When we were waiting in the Delta Club last night we overheard some travelers talking about the pending "Tsunami" coming to Shanghai on Saturday night... Sure enough, there is a storm on it's way to the coastal city! It's name is "Typhoon Muifa!" We decided we didn't want to stay around to meet him! So, this morning we changed our plans, and took the 10:00 High Speed Train to Nanjing!

We are now safely at the beautiful Westin! We will be here until we move to our hotel tomorrow where we will spend five days with Emme Jade!

diana- i have followed your blog for a while now and have always enjoyed, but never commented. first, congratulations on this next big adventure in your lives and i pray that all goes well for you in china to get your sweet emme! all your girls are so darling! i never really ventured into each of the personal adoption blogs you have set up, but imagine my surprise tonight when i saw sienna's blog... we reviewed her file back in sept 2009 and spent many sleepless nights trying to wrap our heads around the unknown (to us at the time) idea of thalassemmia. we spoke to so many wonderful doctors at children's hospital of philadelphia... in the end, we felt like it was just too much for our family, and we made the very sad decision to relinquish her file on september 29 (the day before my son's birthday). i have thought of her often (we just looked at her beautiful referral picture yesterday in our adoption files, in fact) and always hoped and prayed that she had found her forever family. such a amazement that sienna is actually her all this time and i never even saw it! it brings my heart such great joy that she has been with you all this time (on paper and then in person) and i wish you all a lifetime of happiness! fondly, paige in california

ok... so i am spinning here... reading more about sienna's history and learning that you received an email from an unknown woman advocating for her on september 30th (which is exactly what i was doing that day once we knew we were not her family, in between readying the house for our son's bday celebration...) oh my, could that have been me????

Like Jennifer, I can hardly stand it! Following your journey and Stacy's is almost too much excitement for me as I wait for Jennifer's journey to Gracie Joy! I am asking the Lord to turn this hyper-excitement into hyper-prayer for all of you. Oh, such joy!!

Hi friend! Thanks for the email and glad you decided to go on to Nanjing with a typhoon coming. Enjoy the day relaxing and sleeping! Nanjing looks simply beautiful! Love the lady that you and Jenn have both posted about. Would love to she her surrounded with lilies!

When we make connections with people we always hold them dear in our hearts and pray and think about them..... I am just so excited for your new adventure of adding such a precious little girl Emme.

We will always be connected by our experiences in Changsha with Sienna and Jon Jon. The connection with Jen and you and the girls is so amazing! I can't believe you are both going to be in the opposite cities this time!

I will be following your trip with such joy and praying that Emme with have a smooth transition. I still have those video's of Sienna I should send you some day.

Luv ya,
Jody

Hi Diana,

I'm glad to hear you made it safely and that you were able to get out ahead of the storm! I'm so excited for you! I just don't have the words to express myself right now. Please give Ainsley a hug from me. She's a GREAT big sister (and a pretty cool traveler).

Heather
