More Sugar Than Spice Lately!
We have lovingly referred to Sienna Grace as our "Hot & Spicy Girl" since the day we met her... Not only did it describe the food of her Province, it described her personality perfectly... I have described her as tough and tender... I expect she will always be those things... But, we are beginning to see more and more of the sweet Sienna... It's been almost two years (March 1st) since we met our girl.. And, wow are we proud of how much she has grown, accomplished, and matured!
We had our first scare this week since Sienna's splenectomy on September 30th, 2010. She woke up with a high fever on Wednesday morning... We had been warned that when this happens to take it very seriously.. Instead of going to the hospital I took her to our Pediatrician.. Let's just say we were one phone call away from getting admitted to Children's Hospital. Thankfully, Sienna's Hematologist was available to give direction to our Pediatrician... They were able to administer Rocephin (in the form of 3 awful shots) to her in the office so we didn't have to go downtown. Thankfully by the next morning her white counts were back down, hemoglobin up, and she was looking like herself again! Praise God! By 3:00 yesterday she was feeling so much better and bored without Ruby that she asked me to do a photo shoot!... It was a sweet time with my beautiful girl!
When Ruby got home from school yesterday she brought home a "take home" folder of homework for Sienna.. The two of them disappeared into my office for almost 1 hour.. Ruby went through every page with her so patiently.. I honestly think Ruby could teach Kindergarten!!! :) Sienna was back to school today celebrating her 1/2 birthday with Ruby and her class! She was so excited when we told her she could go!
Sienna Grace ~ I think "Sugar and Spice" is an amazing combination on you!!! I know God is going to use your amazing story of grace in remarkable ways! We love every layer of beautiful, spicy and sweet you!

So glad your beautiful girl is better . I feel in my spirit God has His hand on your 4 beautiful girls ! They will walk in the favor of God all of their lives and will do great things for Him!
You will be amazed at what He will do for them and through them !
Blessings to you all.
Sugar AND spice makes for a well rounded girl. How blessed you are with those girls. How blessed they are to have sisters!
My, just look how much Sienna is blossoming into her "own". She looks all "grown-up". My Katie too, is a "spice" girl, and while we all love her "smiling" personality, I enjoy seeing the softer side sometimes too:) Beautiful photo's Diana!
God Bless,
Diane
I am so glad it is all okay. Kate has had those shots in the legs and they HURT!!! It was awful. My heart empathizes with Sienna ( and YOU). Just so glad that the situation rectified without a hospital visit. You will have enough of the hospital next week :(
I love this update. Sienna looks so beautiful and grown up.
Oh and can your kindergarten teacher come here and give Kate some private instruction please. She could benefit. My lil social and artistic butterfly is not so interested in some of the academics right now;)
Seriously, that is so sweet that Ruby guided Sienna along with her homework.
Such a beautiful girl, so glad she is better. I am partial to sugar and spice girls as I have one as well:)
I am trusting that God will use that combination in a mighty way for these two:) So thankful for you that you did not have to spend the week in the hospital before next week. Praying for your family sweet friend!
So glad to hear she is doing well. She is so beautiful in these pictures, she looks so grown up.
Poor baby! Shots are no fun, for babies or mamas! Happy, HAPPY to hear that she's feeling better and doing so, so well!
I haven't commented so much in your blog before. But I love it!
I'm glad Sienna is feeling better. Those pictures are beautiful! and It looks like it's starting to feel like winter there =).
That is so sweet of Ruby. I remember reading your blog when you were in the process of bringing Sienna home and saying that you wished Ruby and Sienna would be great friends. They seem like sweet friends and sisters!!
SO so beautiful! We have a spicy girl too and just love their sweetness too! blessings and love to your sweet Sienna!
