Emme Started Pre-School Today!!

Today was a very special day! I watched my precious daughter who has only been home for three weeks confidently and happily walk into her new pre-school class. She hugged me tight, gave me a hug and said "bye bye!" And, that was it.. She walked in, hung up her school bag and went off to play. I wanted to weep I was so proud of her!

Jeff unfortunately had a business meeting, so he was not able to join me for drop off. But, the sisters made sure that Emme had a proper first day of school send off.. We all sang, "Emme's going to school today!" which produced the biggest smiles out of our Little Bean.. She knew it was her special day! Yesterday, we went to the open house at pre-school so I could get a sense of how she would do. It was evident she was comfortable in the classroom.. Her favorite activity, the sensory table which was filled with rice to play with! I left her for 40 minutes yesterday, and she did great. The teachers were so sweet with her!

Emme is so excited to have her own school bag.. I love how this bag is almost bigger than she is!! Ainsley carried this same bag seven years ago!!

Even though she looks a little nervous here, you would never have guessed it 2 minutes later when she sent me off so she could go to school!

When I went it to pick her up she was sitting with her class. The teacher waved me over and said that she was amazed at how well she did!!!! She said she was repeating words, following directions, helping, etc.. I think she was as proud of her as I was!!

I walked out of the school with my sweet pre-schooler and guess who was in the parking lot? Her awesome Baba!!! She ran up to him and started talking very excitedly in Chinese, pointing to her school!!!! She gave Jeff a big squeeze and a kiss on the cheek!!! Then she got down, grabbed both of our hands, and walked to the car with a smile on her sweet face! It was a perfect first day of pre-school!!

Pre-School Graduates!

-9SiennaRubyPSGraduates

We have had so much going on that I have not had time to post any photos from Sienna and Ruby's last day of Pre-School... It was a sweet day as they said goodbye to their beloved teachers and friends. Even though they won't be students at Wooddale again, they will be back to visit. Wooddale will be Emme Jade's school too!

This week the twosome went to three days of "Spring into Kindergarten" at their new school. They even got to play on the playground with their big sister and her friends... There favorite part of camp... Art and music!! The good news is they liked their new teacher very much!! They walked into the building hand in hand with The Pearl between them today! It was so cute!

Tomorrow is Ainsley's last day of school. She is more than ready for summer vacation! We are going to hit the pool to celebrate!!! And, then Monday we start our real vacation! Five days in Chicago with our favorite pals!!!! I finally get to meet Kit! And, I can't wait to catch up with my sweet friend, "Miss B"!!!

Have a great weekend! I will be back soon! Most likely with some cute pics from the beaches of Lake Michigan!

Pre-School Has Begun!

PreSchool2010BLog

Tuesday it all began.. Bible Study, and Pre-School. It is officially Fall for our family!

Not much has changed.. We were rushing to both events. But we made it, and the girls did great! They are in the same classes together which makes the transition to school so easy for both of them. And, we knew their teachers from previous years which always makes things nice for the kids... and the parent!

There is something very special about reminding Sienna and Ruby to take care of each other, and hearing them say, "We will Mommy!" Their friendship has really blossomed over the past few months. And, it gives me so much comfort knowing they have each other every day in school.

Early reports, are positive! They really enjoyed Day 2 at pre-school!! And, they are both looking forward to the day when their names get called for "Line Leader or Weather Watcher!" So cute!

Pre-School Finale!!

In some cases photos and videos tell the story much better than I ever could. In summary, Ruby and Sienna had their final day at pre-school program yesterday. Next year it will be graduation... But, in many ways this was probably more profound than that will ever be. Jeff and I watched our two youngest daughters proudly march in carrying their American Flags singing their hearts out. One of them arrived on U.S. soil just 11 weeks ago. At the time she did not speak a word of English. She was scared and unsure. Yesterday she was confident, focused and so excited to be in her first concert. And, as for her language... she knew the words and the actions to every song.... Amazing! Both, have won the hearts and respect of their loving teachers, Mrs. Rebecca and Mrs. Kathy! Were there some tears shed... Yes, by the parents sitting in the front row! And, possibly those very special teachers too....

Mothers Day Tea!

Last week I received two formal invitations to a very special tea party. It was at pre-school with my two youngest daughters... I am not sure who was more excited for 2:15... me or them! As I peeked in their room I saw all the work they had put into this precious day. Tablecloths, special gifts, cupcakes... Sienna greeted me first, and escorted me by the hand to my seat.. Ruby joined her and they told me exactly where to sit. Smack dab in the middle of my two little gems.. At that point it hit me... I was completely overwhelmed by my tiny blessings... As they closed their eyes and prayed before we could have our treats, I heard their sweet voices giving thanks for their many blessings.... Need I say more... It was a very special day for this Mom!

I hope that all of you Mom's that inspire me so, had a very special Mother's Day! And, a very special thank you to my beautiful Mother for teaching me how important it is to teach, love and train my girls in the way they should go... The most important job in the world!

Her Rubiness Takes the Stage!

Ruby had her Christmas Concert at Pre-School tonight. Her very first live performance in front of an audience bigger than her family! Ainsley performed on this same stage for the first time six years ago... One word to describe it, ADORABLE!!

The Great Gobbler Get Together!!!!

I love Pre-School Events!!!! They are so darn cute.. The kids get so excited, especially Her Rubiness! Wednesday, I was invited to join my precious daughter at "The Great Gobbler Get Together!" One could describe it as a three year old feast with turkey sandwiches, mashed potatoes and the very best pumpkin pudding I have ever had. Made by Ruby's class!!!!

It has been such a blessing to have a front row seat to watch her embrace school. I know the teachers are enjoying "little miss bubbly" too! They describe her as the girl with the ready smile that skips everywhere she goes!!! I love that about her too!

I look forward to next year's "Great Gobbler Get Together" with two pre-schoolers!!!!

So much to be thankful for!
